PPS fiber has good chemical stability, it can still maintain its original performance under extremely harsh conditions, and has excellent chemical stability, second only to PTFE fiber.
1. At high temperature, the original tensile strength can be maintained after being placed in different inorganic reagents for a week.
2. It has good resistance to organic reagents, except that toluene at 93 °C has a slight effect on its strength, in organic solvents such as carbon tetrachloride and chloroform, even after rotating for a week at the boiling point, its strength will not Changes, the temperature of formic acid, acetic acid at 93 ℃ has no effect on its strength.
3. The non-woven filter fabric made of PPS fiber has good corrosion resistance in 50% sulfuric acid at 93°C, and the strength retention rate has no significant effect.
4. After being placed in sodium hydroxide solution at 93℃ and 10% for 2 weeks, its strength has no obvious change.
PPS fiber is difficult to burn into products, and it can reach UL-94V-0 standard without adding flame retardant. Although it will burn when placed in a flame, it will not drip and will self-extinguish away from the fire. When burning, it is orange-yellow flame, and a small amount of black soot is produced. The smoke generation rate is lower than that of halogenated polymers, and the burning material does not fall off, forming residual coke, showing low smoke density and good flame retardancy.
